The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night stating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
