David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
