The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, in spite of its success, an increasing amount of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Players have started resorting to personalized games made via the Portal feature to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how demanding these assignments have become.
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four categories of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the only way of getting 12 of the 41 primary weapons present in the game.
A number of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on rankings for the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
On Reddit, players are reasonably sharing their frustrations about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
"This task is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many benefits in combat as it did in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and is effective only at very short distances, which is not usually a position you aim to be. That player also pointed out the paradox in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and conversely.
One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, within the sniper rifle category to obtain the PSR:
This is tough enough as it is, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps don't even support combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but given there are merely nine maps in the game at present, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, Mirak Valley, and maybe an additional option at a push if you plan to engage from afar from beyond 200 meters.
There is a workaround though: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, including AI opponents. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when tackling the tasks in a proper game feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an atypical style that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?
It won't come as a surprise if a number of these missions are made easier in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply will never acquire the gated weapons.
For now, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these demanding multiplayer missions, hoping for a fairer player experience in coming revisions.
